If a dog wants to have sex, it just chases down the nearest bitch (or chair or pant leg) and humps it. For the dog, rape is more or less the normal form of sex. If that’s true in nature, though, why is it that humans don’t act this way? Certainly the vestiges of this sort of thinking still reside in the male brain. When men see an attractive woman, they imagine pushing her into a doorway and sticking her. But they don’t do it. Why? Because their reason — or what Freud might have called their Super Ego — intervenes. They know better.
